Goji Berry & Hemp Seed Protein Packed Snack


Here is a quick, nutritiously dense, anti-oxidant boosting, protein packed snack you can throw together anytime of day!

This is a standard go to for me, especially as my post dinner snack.

Ingredients:

  1. 1 cup of organic, plain, greek yogurt (you can use whole milk yogurt as an alternative)
  2. 2 TBS of protein powder (CLICK HERE to for the vanilla whey I use )
  3. 1 TBS of hemp seeds
  4. 1 TBS gogi berries
  5. Dash of cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Mix yogurt, protein powder, and cinnamon together
  2. Top with hemp seeds and gogi berries

 

Gogi berries are an excellent high protein snack, full of fiber and over 20 different vitamins and minerals, and a wealth of antioxidants.

Hemp seeds are also a great addition due to the fact that they have a 3:1 balance of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, which promote cardiovascular health, a high gamma linolenic acid (GLA) essential omega-6 fatty acid that naturally balances hormones, 20 amino acids, 9 essential amino acids that our bodies cannot produce, tons of phytonutrients, and soluble and un-soluble fiber which naturally cleanses the colon and reduces sugar cravings.

I throw cinnamon in because it taste amazing, but also because it is an antioxidant, anti-diabetic, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, and anti-heart disease spice.

Tip: When buying cinnamon look for organic ceylon (citrusy) or cassia (spicier) cinnamon powder. These are the types of cinnamon that have been used in most studies showing the benefits listed above.
