Do you make a point to feed your soul often?
What does that even mean for you?
I realized that I don’t dedicate enough time to doing the things that truly feed my soul and nourish me on a deeper level.
I don’t know if you feel the same way, but I realized this recently, and after my husband and I took our dogs on a hike yesterday, it hit me in the face full force!
I’m a nature junkie so when I don’t make it a priority to get out in the wild I sort of lose touch with who I am to a certain degree.
I lose focus on how amazing God’s creation is and how grateful and blessed I am to be able to see it and experience it uninhibited.
When I take a step back and re-direct my focus on these things, everything else takes a back seat.
I have this overwhelming sense of peace, contentment and joy; it’s pretty much the best feeling ever.
This is what feeding my soul looks like for me.
When I devote time to getting out in nature, reading my Bible, spending time with friends and family (husband and dogs included), and giving to others I feed my soul on many different levels.
When I don’t devote time to doing these things, I find myself anxious, stressed, on edge, rushed and always feeling like I’m behind on what I want to accomplish.
It’s so easy to get caught up in what life demands of us in the day to day workings of our lives, but I think we need to realize that when we feed our souls all of those day to day demands become much easier and enjoyable for us, and for those around us.
I am a firm believer in the mind body connection and the influence that each has on the other. So I value the importance of addressing both in my life, and in the lives of those I work with, to achieve the balance that allows one to operate at their best level.
So here is my challenge to you… commit to spending at least 10 minutes every day doing one thing that feeds your soul, and brings you joy, for 7 days.
Just spend 10 minutes at least, in the morning or whenever the world isn’t demanding your attention, and see how it impacts your life.
If you notice anything write it down, and reflect back on it at the end of the 7 days.
This is my personal challenge for myself and I want to invite you to jump on board with me.
If you can relate to what I’m dishing out then do this. If you think I’m just talking crazy non sense over here that’s fine, just ignore me lol.
But if you do decide to do this, comment and let me know what it is that feeds your soul and how you feel after the 7 days, because I want to know mmmkay!
So have an amazing day and just give this little rant a thought if nothing else!
